The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a Russian strike in the center of Sumy. It was noted that this occurred on Palm Sunday, April 13.
'On the day of a great Christian holiday, Palm Sunday, Russian troops committed another crime against humanity: they launched ballistic missile strikes on the center of Sumy. Dozens of peaceful people have been killed and injured,' the statement says.
It was noted that Russia is again attacking the civilian population and violating international humanitarian law standards.
The General Staff emphasized that Russia does not seek peace and directs its actions towards instilling fear. Ukrainians will not leave this aggression unanswered.
'Our response will be decisive. We will destroy the occupiers, their military facilities, weapons, and equipment - regardless of where they are located. Russian war crimes have no statute of limitations. The criminals must receive their deserved punishment,' the statement added.
As of 6:00 PM, as a result of the missile strike by Russia in Sumy, 34 people have been killed, and another 117 have been injured, including two children among the dead.
It should be noted that the West protested against the Russian strike on Sumy.
