Red Cross started winter aid payments: who can receive up to 21,000 UAH.

The Red Cross of Ukraine launched a support program for the population before winter
From mid-October 2024, the Red Cross of Ukraine started a support program to prepare for winter in nine regions of the country. This was reported by journalist Irina Polyakova in her video review on October 26.
"The Red Cross provides monetary and humanitarian aid to pensioners and other vulnerable groups of the population. However, this assistance may not be available in all regions," noted Polyakova.
The payments range from 11,600 to 21,000 UAH depending on the number of household members and their vulnerability category. The program primarily covers settlements near the front line and the border with Russia.
The process of receiving assistance has a clear algorithm: "The organization informs local authorities about vulnerability categories that will receive assistance. After this, the local administration independently compiles lists of people eligible for assistance. Then the Red Cross contacts the people on the list and registers them," explained Polyakova.
The journalist noted that it is impossible to apply for winter preparation assistance on the organization's website or through the hotline - the lists are automatically formed by local administrations.
In the dissemination of fraudulent information about the 7,000 UAH aid from the Red Cross, the journalist warned that these are fraudsters. "Red Cross staff under no circumstances collect personal data from users," she emphasized.
The organization also provides food packages and hygiene products. This support is available to internally displaced persons, people with disabilities of groups 1 and 2, individuals whose homes have been damaged as a result of hostilities, as well as family members of deceased Ukrainian defenders.
