The state must find ways to repay debts to green energy producers - ICC Ukraine.

The state must find ways to repay debts to electricity producers from renewable sources, as this issue remains unresolved. This was stated by Oleksandr Trokhymets, Vice President for Energy of the Ukrainian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Ukraine), during a broadcast on the 'Pryamyy' channel.
«The issue of previous debts remains unresolved. They have persisted as they were,» – said Trokhymets.
According to him, the state has only partially responded to the issue and has created conditions to prevent new debts from accumulating by 2025. He noted that this has become possible due to the fact that, for the first Time in several years, the National Energy Commission (NEURC) has made it impossible for 'Ukrenergo' to incur losses.
«Previously, NEURC typically reduced this tariff (for electricity transmission - ed.), and as a result, debts emerged in the market. Because there are no other sources of funds. 'Ukrenergo' spent more than it received, creating a deficit,» – explained the expert.
In his opinion, government authorities must continue to move towards resolving the debt issue in the energy market completely.
«The situation is slightly improving, but we are still very far from solving this knot of debts,» – emphasized Trokhymets.
As previously reported, the debt of NEC 'Ukrenergo' for compensation for the production of electricity from alternative sources to the state-owned enterprise 'Guaranteed Buyer' exceeded 30 billion hryvnias.
