A Ghanaian went to study in Moscow but ended up in Ukrainian captivity.

An expatriate from Ghana, captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, shared his story. He planned to get an education in Moscow but due to financial problems, he was forced to join the military. Despite a promise not to participate in battles, he found himself struck by a tank near Donetsk.
The captured Ghanaian appealed to his president for a quick exchange. He claimed that he was deceived and emphasized the need to support his family.
This is not the only case of foreigners participating in combat on the side of Russia. Mercenaries from Belarus, Tajikistan, and other countries, including Africa, are also held in captivity.
Russia actively recruits foreigners to participate in the war in Ukraine. One such mercenary, who arrived from the African Republic of Sierra Leone, was captured by Ukrainian paratroopers.
Additionally, Russia hired about 15,000 Nepali residents with a promise to pay $2000 for service.
Previously, a Somali prisoner named the countries of origin of mercenaries fighting on the side of Russia. It turned out that about 20 foreign fighters are in one of the RF's stationed units.
