Head of NABU reacted to the law project approved by the Verkhovna Rada - what he said.
The Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, Semen Kryvonos, expressed his opinion on draft law No. 12414, which was approved by the Verkhovna Rada. He urged President Zelensky not to sign this law.

At a joint briefing with the head of the SAP, Oleksandr Klymenko, Kryvonos stated that the introduction of the law, which subordinates NABU and SAP to the Prosecutor General, violates the functioning of the anti-corruption system in Ukraine.
'The anti-corruption infrastructure has been destroyed. What was created as a request of the Euromaidan, as a request of society, as a request to combat high-level corruption has now been destroyed,' -said Kryvonos.
Therefore, he urged the president not to sign the law and to return it to parliament with a veto, as all dreams of a bright future for Ukraine are under threat.
The anti-corruption law complicates the work of the system
In July, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that provides for the complete subordination of NABU and SAP to the Prosecutor General. This creates problems for anti-corruption bodies. There is an ongoing investigation at NABU, during which one bureau employee has been arrested.
The heads of NABU and SAP opposed the law and called on the president not to sign it, as it threatens the anti-corruption system in Ukraine. It is worth noting that this law could undermine trust in anti-corruption bodies and weaken the fight against corruption in the country.
