Legendary Czech player and public figure Dominik Hasek expressed his criticism of the organizers of the tennis tournament at Wimbledon due to the participation of Russian athletes. He noted that the participants from Russia have not renounced their support for the war, so their presence at the tournament is unacceptable.

«These competitions in Britain are becoming an advertisement for the Russian war and other crimes. The organizers must be held accountable for the damage done to Ukraine», - wrote Hasek.

Dominik Hasek has long opposed the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in show business after the Russian aggression in Ukraine. Known as a famous goalie, he is an Olympic champion and a two-Time Stanley Cup winner.

Elina Svitolina started her campaign at Wimbledon 2025 successfully

Elina Svitolina successfully started her participation at Wimbledon 2025, defeating Hungarian Anna Bondar in two sets in the first round. In the first match, the Ukrainian made a break and won 6:3, and in the second, she only gave away one game to her opponent, finishing with a score of 6:1.
