Ukrainian seaports handled 6 million tons of cargo despite the challenges of the war.

Ukrainian seaports: cargo handling volumes in April 2025
In April 2025, Ukrainian seaports processed 6 million tons of cargo. This happened despite the increase in shelling, complex logistics, and reduced production. This was reported by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA).
The largest share of the total cargo handled consisted of grain cargo - 3.1 million tons and ore - 1 million tons. Within the Ukrainian maritime corridor, 5.3 million tons of cargo were transported, of which 2.9 million tons were agricultural products.
According to USPA data, the largest volumes of cargo handling were recorded in the ports of Greater Odesa. In April, the port of Pivdenny handled 2.4 million tons, the Chornomorsk port - 1.8 million tons, and the Odesa port - 1 million tons. The ports of the Danube region (Izmail, Reni, and Ust-Danube) together handled about 800 thousand tons.
According to Deputy Head of USPA Vyacheslav Kharkavenko, Ukrainian seaports maintain operational resilience even in conditions of extremely high risks. Despite the difficult circumstances, Ukrainian ports perform their functions and remain an important support for the country's economy.
The spring period is characterized by a decrease in agricultural product exports, however, volumes usually begin to increase from mid-summer. This indicates the importance of seaports for the economic development of Ukraine.
