In Odessa, there is an acute problem with shelters from shelling, designed for all residents of the city. Currently, there are only 1240 civil protection structures in the city, which is three times less than required. This fact was made known by a publication from Novyny.LIVE through a request to the Odessa City Council. There are a total of 1240 defensive structures available in Odessa, of which only 354 are civil protection facilities, the rest are regular shelters. Information from the city council indicates that the number of shelters needs to be significantly larger. In order to provide all residents of the city with the possibility of shelter, according to the city council's calculations, the number of civil protection structures needs to be nearly doubled - to 3820. There are also plans to allocate 250 million hryvnias for the construction of new shelters, as well as repair and improvement of existing facilities according to the city’s civil protection targeted program.Recently, it was reported that explosions could be heard in the outskirts of Odessa, and it also became known about the shortage of shelters on the city's beaches.
