North Korea equips MiG-29 with new long-range missiles.

North Korea presents a new 'air-to-air' missile with active radar guidance
North Korea has showcased to the world its new military technology - an 'air-to-air' missile with active radar guidance. It has been integrated with MiG-29 fighters, indicating significant progress in strengthening the country's military capabilities. The demonstration of this missile took place on May 17, 2025, during leader Kim Jong Un's visit to the 1st Guards Air Division of the DPRK Air Force. According to Bulgarian Military, this move aims to enhance Pyongyang's air fleet and modernize its military technology.
According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the new missile has a range of 90 to 120 km and is equipped with active radar guidance. This allows the missile to independently track targets after launch, increasing strike accuracy. By adding this new model to its arsenal, North Korea is reducing the gap in its air defense strategy and taking an important step towards improving its military capabilities.
