The Verkhovna Rada supported the bill to increase taxes by 58 billion UAH in 2024. 241 deputies voted for the bill, 14 opposed, 28 abstained. The bill provides for an increase in the military levy, higher taxes for FOPs, advance payments at gas stations, and other changes. These tax changes will increase the state budget in 2024 by 58 billion UAH and by 137 billion UAH in 2025.
The occupiers shelled Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs, resulting in seven people being injured, including three civilians and four rescuers.
In Lebanon, mass explosions of pagers used by Hezbollah militants for communication occurred. As a result of the explosions, at least eight people died and about 2,000 were injured. The Iranian ambassador to Beirut was also injured.
Russian occupiers executed a Ukrainian prisoner of war with a sword. These actions by the Russians are a gross violation of the Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners of war. The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights sent letters to international organizations, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and the UN.
