The price difference for potatoes was striking: one of the stores significantly changed the price.


Changes in potato prices are observed in three popular supermarket chains in Ukraine: Metro, Auchan, and Megamarket. According to the analytical portal 'Minfin', the cheapest regular potatoes are offered at Metro for 28.40 UAH per kilogram. In Auchan, the price for potatoes is 28.90 UAH/kg, while in Megamarket it is 39.00 UAH per kilogram.
Compared to March 2025, potato prices have slightly changed. At Metro and Auchan, they have slightly increased, but at Megamarket, they have decreased somewhat. The average price for regular potatoes in April at Metro and Auchan is lower than in March (32.10 UAH compared to 32.60 UAH).
The prices for new potatoes are only known for the Auchan chain, where it costs 42.60 UAH per kilogram. This is slightly more expensive than in March (41.39 UAH/kg). Pink potatoes show price fluctuations. At Metro and Auchan, the prices are almost identical - 38.38 UAH/kg and 38.50 UAH/kg, respectively. Compared to March, the price in Auchan has noticeably increased from 36.90 UAH/kg. The average price for pink potatoes in April (38.44 UAH) is higher than the March figure (37.64 UAH).
The latest data shows that the most accessible regular potatoes are offered at Metro and Auchan, while Megamarket has a higher price. New and pink potatoes are more expensive, and their prices have also changed compared to March.
It is also worth noting that the prices for oranges, bananas, and lemons have changed.
