Ukraine is not threatened by the exercises of the Belarusian nullified troops. This was stated by the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service Andriy Demchenko.
During a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine, he noted that Belarus plans to conduct exercises until the end of January.
These exercises, which have been announced and will last until the end of January, do not pose a threat to us. Belarus constantly conducts various types of exercises on its territory. I remind you that earlier such exercises took place with the units of the Russian army, but currently, Russian troops are not present in sufficient numbers on the territory of Belarus. Belarus maintains a tense situation, pushing Russia
According to Demchenko, there is no presence of Russian troops in Belarus during the exercises, and the exercises are not being conducted near the Ukrainian border.
We have no information about the presence of Russian troops at the border. These exercises involved the engagement of territorial defense units and reservists. But in fact, they are not in close proximity to our border. I am not even sure whether technical means will be involved in these exercises. This is a demonstration by Belarus aimed at increasing its own defense capability, since the threat comes from Ukraine. They will continue such rhetoric
On January 8, Belarus began exercises of the nullified troops in the Gomel region, which borders Chernihiv. The gatherings with the conscripts of the territorial troops will last until January 31 under the leadership of the head of the Gomel executive committee.
