The Teacher of the Deceased Daria Bazilevych Shared an Excerpt from Her Essay That Impressed Him.

Ostap Slyvynsky, poet, literary critic, and lecturer at the Ukrainian Catholic University, shared his memories of Daria Bazilevych, a student who, along with her sisters and mother, died as a result of a missile attack on Lviv. He spoke about an excerpt from Daria's essay that charmed him and made him reflect.
In the spring, she attended my lectures. I often looked at her. You know, when you speak to an audience, you need to have eye contact with someone who is listening attentively. That was often Daria. She always sat in the front rows and shone, such a little girl with light hair.
In May, at the end of our course, she wrote an essay that included these words:
Not always what we dream about turns out to be as ideal as we imagined. Often, wandering in our fantasies, being fixated only on dreams, we do not notice that our life is already better than we can imagine
Ostap Slyvynsky shared his thoughts on these words and said that he is very proud of and loves this generation of 18-year-olds. They are goal-oriented, pragmatic, and passionate. They are organized and value their Time. They are assertive and demanding. The lecturer added that when he communicates with them, he comes back to life.
He also compared his generation with this new generation, noting that they have nothing in common with the Russian gerontological slickness. He also noted that they need to listen to their children, who can provide them with many valuable lessons.
Friends of the Bazilevych family shared their memories of the deceased, and on September 6, Lviv held a farewell for Yevhenia Bazilevych and her daughters Yaroslava, Daria, and Emilia, who died as a result of a missile-drone strike.
