Frosts and Summer Heat: Forecaster Provides May Forecast.

Weather Forecast in Ukraine for May 2025
May 2025 in Ukraine will be characterized by summer weather conditions. An increase in thunderstorm activity is expected, with daytime temperatures reaching +30...+33°C. However, no prolonged heat waves are forecasted, meteorologists report.
According to the forecast by candidate of geographical sciences Ihor Kibalchych, an anticyclone is expected at the beginning of May, and temperatures will be close to the climatic norm, with no significant precipitation. However, cyclone activity will gradually increase, and rain, thunderstorms, hail, and gusty winds are expected.
Rain of varying intensity is expected across the country, with possible thunderstorms, hail, and gusty winds in some areas.
In May, the weather will be more stable compared to April, when there were cold spells with frosts. Temperatures in April even exceeded the norm in the eastern regions.
The average temperature in May will be +13...+17°C, which corresponds to the norm. In the southeastern regions, it will be 1-1.5°C higher. However, some days may be hot with temperatures of +30...+33°C, while at night there may be a noticeable cooling down to +1...+7°C.
At the beginning of May, there is a risk of short-term frosts in the northern and western regions of Ukraine, except for the southern areas and Crimea. However, their impact will be limited and will not cause significant damage.
In the second half of the month, the weather will be more stable and dry.
It should be noted that May will be characterized by abundant precipitation, which is expected to be 25-75% more than usual. A lot of precipitation will fall, especially in flat areas, the Carpathians, and the Crimean mountains. This will help to replenish moisture deficits, create favorable conditions for plants, and reduce the risk of fires.
In Europe, an increase in precipitation is expected due to the movement of air masses in a western and southwestern direction.
